Clinical Supervision
I am an approved supervisor in Washington State. To be an approved supervisor, it is required to have an independent license in good standing for at least two years, have 25 supervised hours supervising others, and have 15 continuing education units in supervision. Since completing these requirements, I am happy to offer supervision to new and motivated psychotherapists entering the field!
Approach To Clinical Supervision
My approach to clinical supervision centers on reflective collaboration, mutual respect, and curiosity. Counseling is a field where we are continuously learning how to meet the needs in our changing culture, our clients, and our practice. During supervision with me, you can expect authentic engagement, reflective supervision, and thoughtful exploration of your career goals.
I primarily work in psychodynamic therapy and experiential models. I continue to expand my approaches to encompass attachment theory, emotion-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral and trauma-focused CBT, and EMDR techniques. The combination of these different approaches is beneficial to clients. As my supervisee, I want to help you find the approach that aligns with your style. I aim to support you in becoming the best psychotherapist you can be. Here are some topics you can expect in clinical supervision with me:
- Self-care
- Theories and techniques
- Career goals
- Ethical business and marketing strategies
- Best practices for documentation
- Client safety
- Washington State laws and ethics
